SHADOW & CHASE'S PUPPIES

NEWBORN (7th December 2024)

The theme of Shadow & Chase's litter is the "8 Virtues of Bushido".

What are the 8 virtues of Bushido?

The 8 virtues of the Bushido are justice, courage, benevolence, politeness, honesty, honour, loyalty, and self-control. Rectitude (or justice) is the strongest virtue of the Bushido because it shows one's power to decide upon a course of conduct and act without wavering. It was an unwritten code of principles and morals for the warrior class. The primary focus of the Bushido was teaching Samurai warriors self-control in adhering to specific ethical norms and also how to use their swords properly, but it involved many other values as well. The life values in the Bushido code involved the warriors keeping their honour, their loyalty, and showing compassion towards others.

What does Bushido mean?

Bushido was an ethical system for the warrior class. It was a system that stressed obligation and duty. The code was a guide for the Samurai in life, battle, and even in death. The term Bushido means "way of the warrior" or "path of the warrior."

What is Bushido and why is it important?

Bushido is a samurai code of ethics and behavior. It is important because it upheld the standard for warriors in Japan, and some attribute the values of Bushido for making Japan an economic superpower.
